Kelly Berger (Kel):
Kelly is a Management Accountant and registered BAS agent. She is a mum of 2 neurodiverse daughters.
Kelly Berger is no stranger to small business. She has over 15 years’ experience in bookkeeping and management accounting across different business sectors.
Kelly has owned 4 businesses which means she gets ‘small business’. She also founded the largest Australian Facebook Group dedicated to Bookkeeping Advisors – “Bookkeepers Support Group”. Kelly is passionate about helping others in the profession across Australia, NZ and USA develop their skills by running training sessions and group retreats. Her vision has no bounds.
Kelly is director of Bookkeepers Support where she offers training, mentoring, guidance and education for small business owners and Bookkeepers. She works with business owners to improve their systems and repairs their financial books. She works with Bookkeepers to enhance their careers through education and support to start their own bookkeeping practice.
Melissa Foote (Mel):
Melissa Foote is a Non-Executive-Director of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and the Managing Director of her practice and educational businesses, Bloom 8 Global & Melfoote.com.au. As an accomplished entrepreneur, she built a successful accounting and bookkeeping practice as well as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) that specialised in finance and business qualifications. After many years of building and growth, she then focused on creating a lifestyle business that ultimately could run without her. The outcome of applying these principles to both her practice and the RTO, enabled her to sell the Government-funded educational arm, whilst still retaining her practice. Melissa is also an accomplished speaker and network facilitator for ICB and her own companies. She has also expanded her practice to incorporate online courses to assist business owners and other bookkeepers and accountants to streamline their practice and/or business. Melissa is a proud advocate and avid supporter of the accounting, bookkeeping and education industries, which is clearly evidenced by her passionate dedication to her ongoing practice (since 2002), the ICB, further studies and support for her peers in industry.
Our Why!
Mel & Kel have been in the practice space for many, many years! Both have successfully sold their businesses and grown their community and practices to a point where they were able to live a healthy, balanced lifestyle that didn’t focus just on workload. Both considered how they could have a business that could run without them so they could go and have the most fun possible! Life is not all about work! We want to inspire you to have fun and recognise that life is short and there is a solution to being overwhelmed and isolated in business.
We are both so passionate about helping others to realise their dreams and their goals in either expanding or automating their practice so that you can take control and work on some personal goals as well.
We want to take you out of your usual space so you can focus on your business and take the vital next steps to get you to a place of calm, confidence and enjoying life more.
We want you to enjoy working with us and other practitioners in a supportive, guided and safe space to achieve your goals, outcomes and dreams. Each person’s goal will be quite different and we will work with each of you to focus on getting to where you want to be.
This will be an intensive but joyous workgroup where we can share our experiences whilst also working on new ways of thinking and doing things. This is a once only 2024 international retreat experience. Places are limited, will one of those be yours?

Testimonials!
I had the pleasure of attending the MK Retreat in August 2024. What a wonderful opportunity to both get away, and the valuable ablity to spend time working on my business rather than in it, alongside other like-minded persons with two great mentors.
On offer were a variety of topics that we often don’t consider whilst working in our businesses, great tools to take away, inspirational guest speakers, bonding with fellow bookkeepers and of course the downtime immersing ourselves in the local city of HCMC.
I highly recommend Kelly & Mel’s retreat. Take the time, escape the grind, and work on your business.
